Annapurna Base Camp Challenging Family Lodge Trek (Horse Riding), 14 Days

ABC trek is a nature trek which takes you to the foot of Mt. Annapurna, one of the most magnificent peaks in the world. The trail takes you through fascinating traditional villages of Nepal’s ethnic communities of the Gurung who will greet you very warmly if you cared to stop for a conversation. Annapurna is the 10th highest peak in the world. It was the first 8000 meter peak ever submitted, in June 1950 by a French expedition led by Maurice Herzog. The tale of this epic climb is told in one of the most fascinating narrations of mountaineering adventure in the book 'Annapurna' also written by Maurice Herzog. Our trek to Annapurna Base Camp is by comparison a far tamer proposition, however the big mountain views are still the same as we ascend through villages and terraced farmland to the alpine environments found at the higher elevations around base camp. This is a stunning trek in the heart of the Annapurna range. Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is a spectacular journey on foot to the South Face of Annapurna I - a pleasant hike through the ethnically diversified villages and forests assorted by flora and fauna. Explore the way upstream along the Modi Khola into the Annapurna Sanctuary, a valley surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks including the breathtaking Fishtail Peak-Machhapuchhare. The hike continues through dense rhododendron forest with towering snowy peaks in the background. The return walk is even more interesting as the trek winds around different ridges towards Ghandruk, where you witness breathtaking views of Annapurna Massif and Machhapuchhre. The remote kingdom of Nepal is best known for the Himalayas, the highest mountain range in the world, friendly people as well as for its great diversity of ethnic groups and cultures. The Annapurna Base Camp trek will be even more interesting in spring as the whole forest along the trail turns red, pink and white with rhododendron flowers.
