Shisha Pangma

Called Gosaithan in Nepal, this peak rises to 8,013 metres on the Nepal-Tibet border. It was first climbed in 1964. The peak inclines from base to top gradually, and is known as one of the easier climbs among Himalayan peaks that rise above 8,000 metres.

Dorje Lhakpa

Dorje Lhakpa (6,966 metres) is located to the south of Shisha Pangma, and is a favorite among photographers because of its peak that rises dramatically. Visible from Kathmandu on a clear day, the peak is a popular destination for climbers too.

Gauri Shankar

This imposing mountain will command your attention for a huge portion of your flight. Gauri Shankar (7,181m) is made up of two summits, named after Gauri and Shankar, incarnations of popular Hindu deities, Parvati and Shiva.

Cho Oyu

Cho Oyu is the sixth highest mountain in the world at 8,201 meters. The mountain was first climbed in 1954, and lies 20 km west of Mount Everest in the Khumbu region of Nepal. Its Tibetan name, Cho Oyu means "Turquoise Goddess".

Pumori lies so close to Everest that is sometimes referred to as Everest's daughter. At 7,161 meters, the peak might not be the highest, especially with Cho-Oyu and Everest on its two sides. However, it is still a stunning sight on the flight.

Lhotse is better known for being right next to Everest, but is beautiful in its own right. Standing tall and proud, with one of its peaks soaring to 8,516 meters, it is a treat in itself. Make sure to take time to admire it, and not just glance through while searching for Everest.

Mt. Everest, the highlight of your flight, needs no introduction. The highest place on earth at 8,850 meters teases you, appearing now, disappearing now – replete in majesty with shining black rock, sprinkled with white.
