Pisang Peak Climbing

Pisang Peak Climbing, Camping 20 Days
The Pisang peak lies in the Annapurna region near the beautiful Buddhist village of Manang. Pisang Peak is the most popular Peak among the trekking peaks in Annapurna region of Nepal. It is on the way to the highest pass of the world and offers good scope for exploration. The western flank of the mountain is guarded by a hanging glacier and offers considerable challenge. The western end of the ridge has huge rock slabs, which make it difficult to climb. A German Expedition made the first ascent of Pisang Peak in 1955 and since then it has been something of considerable remark. Trekkers with little experience in climbing can combine the popular classic Annapurna circuit trek with Pisang Peak climbing to have the taste of climbing in Himalayas in Nepal. The peak rises above from Pisang village and yak pastures in a uniform slope of ice and snow to the final summit pyramid. Pisang peak is considered one of the technical climbing peaks among of the climbing peaks in Nepal. Pisang peak obviously has a lot of scope for exploration and pioneering. The whole of the western flank, which is guarded by a hanging glacier, would appear to offer a considerable challenge, whilst a traverse of the whole summit ridge, which connects to a more northern summit before curving back west, looks a superb possibility. Access to the western end of the ridge how ever looks problematical as a huge rock slabs guard the ridge, a feature on this side of the valley. Seen from Pisang peak, the peak rise from yak pastures above the village in a uniform slope to the final summit pyramid, which is an undistinguished snow and ice slope. Looked at from above Ogre the peak is a little more interesting and can be seen as a curved ridge, with face above Pisang being the truncated southern end of the mountain. This is made up of steeply tilted rocks, the dip slope of which face the valley and is well seen in this peak and the great rock slabs further down the valley. This magnificent Pisang Peak and Tilicho lake trek leads you to the fine village inhabited by a wide diversity of people from different ethnic groups, offering spectacular and majestic views of the white Himalayas. Tilicho Lake is one of those places that have had next to mythic connotations. Many regard it as the highest lake in the world. The trekking path to Tilicho was “a figment of some ones fantasy” and the locals in Manang had little knowledge of the route too, and were often thought to be slightly unfriendly, as they were known for not being particularly keen on working as human beasts of burden for various expeditions that had passed. When asked to porter they had simply refused! Manang is no ordinary village. Its people are heavily involved in international trade, due to passport privileges granted in the past. The route goes along the Marshangdi River and Gorge through the remote valley of Manang also known as the district behind the Mountains, to crest the arid, windswept northern flank of Annapurna at the Thorong-La.
